Court Rules
Welcome to Mitchell Park!
Here are a few tips to make sure you have a good experience:
We have 15 public courts that offer drop-in play, 7 days a week from sunrise to 10pm
Please note that, while the court rules remain the same, as of October 7, 2024, our procedure for joining a game have changed.
Instead of placing paddles next to a net in order to join a game, we are now using paddle racks, which we hope will reduce court congestion. The Pickleball Court Rules signs will soon be updated to reflect this change.
When all courts are full and players are waiting, there is a one-game limit.
Players can join a game or take over a court by placing two or four paddles in the paddle rack for a specific court.
Two paddles will challenge the winners of a game.
Four paddles will take over a court.
Please use an empty court before placing paddles in a rack for a court in play.
When placing two paddles in a rack, choose a court that best matches your skill level.
If you don’t have a partner, go to courts 10 or 12, which are designated for Players Without Partners.
Court 9 is designated as Beginner-Friendly and we encourage all beginners to start there. You may place a single paddle in the rack with the permission of the other players on the court.
If you are confused or have questions, ask someone with a name tag. They are club members and generally very happy to help.
