Pickleball’s Role in Solving Key Community Issues
On April 23, 2024, club member Ron Gentile made a presentation to the Palo Alto Parks & Recreation Commission that recounts his introduction to pickleball at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto.. Because Ron is the CEO of a mental health company, he immediately recognized the value that the game, and the Palo Alto Pickleball Club, bring to the community. The game brings competition, exercise, and joy to the players. In exchange, the players have created a social club that provides volunteers for Getting Started sessions, clinics, round robin tournament, and outreach to local schools. This is a short excerpt from Ron’s presentation. You can see his entire 24 minute presentation HERE.
